Clare Strawn, PhD. works for the
International Society for Technology in Education as a senior research
associate. In her research
article, What Does the Research Say? Dr. Strawn identifies the fact that you
cannot separate how technology influences learning without considering teacher
pedagogy.
However, “a meta-analysis can derive a
composite effect to establish the overall impact of technology in learning
outcomes…on average, a student exposed to technology in K–12 instruction will
perform 12 percentile points higher than a student without technology-enhanced
instruction. ” (Strawn, 2011, p.38).
An incredible gain in student learning is reflected in this
research. Moreover, Dr. Strawn
specifies that the gains in student achievements are seen when instruction is
used with learning, such as TEFA.
